Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her guidance and determination to strengthening South African Social Security Company (SASSA) services during an engagement along with the agency's senior professionals at a strategic planning session in Cape Town.

Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric final exams.

In the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% in the registered pupils while in the instruction sector.

These learners accomplished a commendable pass rate of 86%.
